Yukiko, originally from Tokyo, Japan, started her training in Hip Hop, Ballroom Latin where she developed her passion for dance and movements.
She studied at Trinity Laban and joined Transition Dance Company as a MA degree in Dance Performance where she worked with choreographers - Lucy Guerin(Australia), Martin Nachber(Germany) and Melanie Teal (UK).
Since graduation from Laban, Yukiko has worked with a vast variety of contemporary dance companies internationally, credit includes Art of Spectra(Sweden), Cathy Waller Company, Christopher Marney, Company Decalage(UK-France), James Cousins, Jose Agudo, RDC, Norrdans(Sweden), Rhiannon Faith, Rosie Kay, Tamsin Fitzgerald(2Faced Dance) Vuyani Dance Theatre(South Africa) and more.
Commercial credit: So You Think You Can Dance, Brummoves(BBC West Midlands), Cold Play Music Video(Charlie Brown), DJ Fresh Music Video(Feeling) and Music album commercial(Shuffle by Sound of Ministry)
Yukiko's choreography credit includes A Little Night Music(Story House), Urine Town(London College of Music), Guy new musical(Bunker Theatre) and SoundMoovz product launch(OXO Tower).
Rehearsal directing credit: Jose Agudo's A Thousand Shepherds(Cape Dance Company) and Impact Dance Company Live Vibe Hiphop Theatre(Caracas British Council).
She is a recipient of Choreography Award from DanceXchange in 2017. She is a Work Place artist at The Place and currently on Sky Arts mentoring programme by Akram Khan Company..
